Course Overview

The course is primarily aimed at non-fire and rescue services personnel who work alongside the fire and rescue service, responding to emergency incidents.

This course is suitable for managers, operations staff, process management teams and any member of an organisation who could be the first on scene of any incident where there is a threat to life, property or the environment.

Delegates will be provided with a thorough understanding of safety issues relating to first response operations when attending an incident and the relevant legislation applicable to the scene.

Furthermore, delegates will work through administering a scene and gain the confidence to communicate quickly and effectively with the emergency services and other agencies.

The Safe on Scene course is complemented by current standard operating procedures and follows best practice guidance documents.

An additional two-day action learning workshop can be undertaken after the course to embed learning.
