Course Overview

Our flagship training course is aimed specifically at all Duty Managers dedicated to, and responsible for, the safety and wellbeing of fellow employees and members of the public, who could potentially face business critical incidents at any time of day.

This industry-led, dynamic programme of incident management training has been designed and developed to ensure that it addresses the needs of services providers, businesses and the needs of Duty Managers when resolving incidents at the operational and tactical levels.

SimTrainer UK use the Fire Studio software to bring the training sessions to life; this bespoke and unique approach allows learners to practice against scenarios based on their own day-to-day working environment.

The course provides the opportunity for learners to evaluate key incident management principles, such as: leadership, teamwork, situational awareness, joint decision-making and the need to record key decisions allowing them to integrate seamlessly.

The principles of JESIP and the Foundation Document for Incident Command underpin the learning programme.

By the end of the course, Duty Managers will have a greater understanding of the incident management process and the key skills required to bring an incident under control. This course will instill confidence and give Duty Managers the ability to assist in resolving incidents quickly, effectively and with minimum disruption to business operations.

Teaching & Learning

Delivery of the course will include a mixture of theoretical input, case studies and classroom based exercises.

Assessment

This qualification is validated by a 30 minute written assessment, with formative assessment throughout the course by the trainer.
